Statement Letter:
“This I Believe” is the name of a book that we read in my IHS 130 course. The book is composed of small essays written by a variety of people which are about one to three pages long. Each essay talks about anything that the person believes or anything that has had an impact on their life. Our job for this assignment was to create one of these essays for ourselves. We were assigned to compose a 600-word essay that addressed something that we believe for ourselves, something that we live by, or something/someone that has impacted us. A strength of mine for this assignment was that I think I had a really good foundation on content. I believe that I explained myself well, but wasn’t too wordy which I tend to do. I think that I had a good flow to this essay, and kept my essay interesting. Weaknesses of this project would be that the essay is short, so there isn’t a lot of detail and it doesn’t go in too much depth. This essay is more of a narrative, not an analysis or comparison so it is very basic. I didn’t use complex sentences or sophisticated words which could have helped advance my essay.
